Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - The Solicitation is not available at this time. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 23, located at 708 South Third Street, Suite 200E Minneapolis, MN 55415, is conducting market research for Iowa City VA Health Care System located at 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246 for a contractor to provide onsite Cytotechnologist Services. The Cytotechnologist Services are for approximately 2-3 hours every regular work day, excluding Federal Holidays and weekends, with NO gaps in service. This is approximately a 0.25 FTE position, working a minimum of 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 52 weeks per year, approximately 520 hours. Contractor shall provide Cytotechnologist services for the preparation and screening of a broad range of patient specimens including aspiration biopsy material, urine, sputum, body fluids, spinal fluid, scrapings, and washings. Cytotechnologist(s) must be certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and hold a baccalaureate degree and completion of an accredited cytotechnologist program. Contractor must enroll Cytotechnologist(s) in all currently required quality assessment programs including the current ASCP Non-GYN Digital Image Program and the CAP PAP PT Program. Ensures compliance with all regulatory and governing agencies covering health care and diagnostic services Contractor employee acceptable performance data for these programs must be maintained on file at the VA for each year performing VA Cytotechnology work. The contract period will be for one (1) base year and will include four (4), one (1) year option periods to be exercised at the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that commencement of performance will be November 1, 2015. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 621511 applies with a size standard of $32.5 million. The Government contemplates awarding a fixed price indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract resulting from the future solicitation. Market research is being conducted to determine interest, possible small business set aside, and technical capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary. The Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and/or amendments, will be distributed through Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information regarding this acquisition. Interested parties should download and complete the market research questionnaire. The response end date for the market research questionnaire is July 29, 2015. No collect calls will be accepted.
