Description

Sole Source Justification The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Centers, Long Range Enforcer - Contracts & Procurement Branch 2, Oakland, CA anticipates awarding SOLE SOURCE procurement to Smiths Detection Inc. for the following supplies: 1. 500DT-NE-Dual Mode Explosives and Narcotics Detector Qty: 01 2. Manual sample swabs (200/set) Qty: 01 3. IONSCAN Verification Standard Pen Qty: 02 Smiths Detection Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer for the IONSCAN 500DT onboard all Coast Guard law enforcement missions to detect narcotics and explosives and is the sole provider. (See attached justification) CGC Morgenthau is a 378' high endurance cutter. Vendor will provide all labor and parts listed in the Schedule. NAICS Code 334511 applies to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however all responses received on/before 0800 AM PST 20JULY2015 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
