- Description
- This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), a Request for Quotation, or Invitation for Bids. There is currently no solicitation package available. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Joint Base MDL New Jersey is seeking sources that may be capable of producing the following Weapons Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs): three (3) Fuel Management Units (FMUs) Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office (BB JPO) P/N 901-375-856-107; three (3) Drive System Interface Units (DSIUs), BB JPO P/N 901-375-863-111; and an option for one (1) SLIM - Multifunction Display (SLIM-MFD), BB JPO P/N 901-370-373-101. The FMU, DSIU, and SLIM-MFD are V-22 Aircraft components and are to be used as test items to support the development of an OTPS. The OTPS, once developed, will function as an interface between the aircraft components to be tested and the Consolidated Automated Support System/Reconfigurable Transportable Consolidated Automated Support System test stations. These WRAs are to be utilized to perform Go-Path, fault insertion, and diagnostic program development for OTPS updates/Engineering Change Proposals. During the course of aircraft development, the BB-JPO incorporated modifications to the above mentioned WRAs such as changes to the software, firmware, drawing and hardware unique idenfication markings. The changes resulted in changes to the WRA part numbers from those originally designated by the OEMs. Changes to the aircraft also results in changes to the support equipment; specifically the OTPSs. The OTPSs are always designed to test the components that are currently on the aircraft and only those aircraft components can be used for qualification testing of newly developed OTPSs. The above mentioned BB-JPO part numbers for the FMU, DSIU and the SLIM-MFD are the only items that can be used to qualify the OTPS as they are an exact replica of the actual aircraft components. All corporate and proprietary information should be so marked and will be fully protected to the extent allowed. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as an RFP or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals. Responders to this RFI may be requested to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittals.
