Description
SOURCES SOUGHT Oral/Maxillofacial Prosthodontist Services for the VA Ann Arbor Health Care System This is a Sources Sought Notice. This advertisement is not a solicitation for offers, nor is it a Request for Quotations (RFQ). An RFQ may be issued at a later date. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist and if there are small business concerns capable of providing the requirements. The proposed North American Industry Classification is 621210, Offices of Dentists ($7.5 Million). The requirement is for.1 FTE Prosthodontist to perform Oral/Maxillofacial services at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS). The services will be performed at the VAAAHS, 2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI, 48105. The services would be scheduled for approximately four (4) hours a day one (1) day a week (approximately 208 hours a year). The request is for a base year and four (4) additional option years. Key Duties Include: 1. Contract staff shall provide compassionate care with respect for the special needs of the veteran population served. Care delivered will reflect the VAAAHS's mission, vision and values. Patients referred by a VAAAHS staff dentist to the contracted dentist shall provide each referred patient with an initial comprehensive oral examination and request any necessary diagnostic radiographs and/or tests. The contracted maxillofacial prosthodontist will develop a dental treatment plan to address the individual patient's needs in conjunction with the staff general dentists. 2. Contract staff shall refer patients to the VA dental staff for treatment adjunct to the oral maxillofacial prosthodontic treatment when general dental treatment is required. The VA staff dentist, hygienists, and residents will provide initial periodontal treatment (prophylaxis, hygiene instruction, scaling/root planNing) and necessary restorative treatment. VA staff dentists and residents will also perform oral surgery, multiple extractions and pre-prosthetic surgery when indicated. 3. Contract staff shall design and construct removable prosthetics (obturators, complete or partial dentures) when necessary to restore adequate masticatory function. Facial prosthetics to replace skin, cartilaginous and soft tissues will be designed and constructed by the contract maxillofacial prosthodontist to provide an acceptable esthetic result. These will include but not be limited to noses, ears, cheeks, brows, and chins. 4. Contract staff shall provide other necessary services to include gnathological procedures (including bite splint, nightguard, occlusal adjustments), restorations, cast crowns and fixed partial dentures, cast-base and cast-framework removable partial dentures, splinting of teeth, and restoration of dental implants. 5. Contract staff shall confer with the Chief of Dental Service on certain treatments that require prior approval. These procedures will be authorized by the Chief, Dental Service of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, based on eligibility criteria, progress notes, radiographs, and consultation with the VA staff dentists and the contracted oral maxillofacial prosthodontist. 6. Contract staff shall participate in the dental training programs by providing consultation and clinical instruction in prosthodontic diagnosis and treatment for patients that are also under the care of the general practice residents. 7. Contract staff shall complete medical record documentation in accordance with VAAAHS policies. Please provide a capability statement along with the following information: 1.
