Description
AMENDMENT 01 - The purpose of Amendment 01 is to post questions received from industry and the Government's response for each. The following questions were received: INDUSTRY QUESTION: Q1 - "Sections 4.2.11.5 and 4.2.11.6 reference MIL-STD-810G Method 513.7 Procedure I, Method 514.7 Procedure I, and Method 516.7 Procedure V. Should these references be Method 513.6 Procedure I, Method 514.6 Procedure I and Method 516.6 Procedure V. I am failing to find the specified sections in MIL-STD-810G." GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE: A1 - Unless otherwise noted, the most recent revision of MIL-STD 810 at time of contract award shall apply for each document. The most current version is titled MIL-STD 810G_Change Notice 1, dated 15 April 2014. ______________________________________________________________________ INDUSTRY QUESTION: Q2 - "Is there a preferred penetrant application method?(3.2.1.1) The spec calls out a max part size and weight and mentions a tank. Is it intended to be a dip application or is it open to brush or spray application?" GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE: A2 - Dipping of part to maximum extent possible is preferred while maintaining total system dimensional requirements. ______________________________________________________________________ INDUSTRY QUESTION: Q3 - "Is there a ventilation requirement for the form D(non-aqueous spray) developer application station? (3.2.1.7) The spec says 'a means for preventing developer spray from reaching neighboring stations etc.' The only mention of ventilation is in the inspection booth." GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE: A3 - Requirement is to mitigate crass contamination from station to station of the spray. Excluding the inspection booth, any processing stations enclosed, while not preferred, are subject to ventilation requirements of paragraph 3.2.1.8.k of the specification. ______________________________________________________________________ INDUSTRY QUESTION: Q4 - "Is there a preference on a material handling system? Right now our interpretation of the spec has the operator lifting the parts in and out of the stations. We build this type of system as well as totally automated with lift assists at operator interfaces. Would like clarification to ensure we are on the same page regarding meeting 'General Safety Requirements'(3.4.1)c,d and e." GOVERMENT'S RESPONSE: A4 - Minimum requirement allows for either manual or automated system, as long as the system proposed will meet the "General Safety Requirement" and is technically acceptable. Offeror's need to propose their own design based on interpretation.
