Description
IGF::OT::IGF: Offshore Marine Debris Search Support Services The purpose of the Offshore Marine Debris Search (OMDS) contract is to provide nationally consistent technical support services to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) On-Scene Coordinators (OSCs), Regional Response Teams (RRTs), Remedial Project Managers (RPMs) and other federal officials in implementing the EPA ¿s responsibilities pursuant to the national response system. These responsibilities are described in the background below. The contractor shall assist in fulfilling these responsibilities within the region and potentially outside the region through backup regional response, cross regional response, national response, and international response. The contractor shall be prepared to provide scientific/technical support for EPA activities in furtherance of the agency ¿s primary mission: the protection of human health and the environment. EPA ¿s role in offshore marine debris occurrence sites would be to support members of the Oceania and Region 9 Regional Response Teams (e.g., Department of the Interior US Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of Commerce, US Coast Guard (USCG), State of Hawaii, Territories of American Samoa, Guam and CNMI, and the State of California and local agencies) in protection of human health and the environment in the eventuality of an oil or hazardous substance assessment and/or incident response associated with a marine debris incident on or near shore.
