Description
This is an FBO Request for Information for a tentative requirement to provide a gait analysis and gait training system for the Polytrauma Blind Rehabilitation Center (PTBRC) located at the VA Palo Alto Health Center, Palo Alto, California. As part of Market Research, NCO 21 is issuing this RFI to determine if there exists an adequate number of qualified interested contractors/vendors capable of providing the Gait Real-Time Analysis Interactive lab system. The Government may use the responses to this RFI for information and planning purposes. The draft characteristics described herein are only the currently contemplated products and specifications, and may vary from the products and specifications in any final Request for Quote (RFQ). A Request for Quote using the following NAICS is contemplated: 339112- Physiotherapy Equipment. The system must be composed of a dual-belt treadmill, a motion-capture system, synchronized Virtual Reality (VR) environments next to 3 video cameras and EMG (electromyography) system, installation, service and onsite training. Required salient characteristics include: 1.Warranty and Service Requirements a.A minimum of one (1) year warranty on all hardware and software to initiate from delivery date with option to extend for up to two years b.Must provide one (1) year service contract on software maintenance to initiate from the final acceptance test on-site c.Must provide one (1) year service contract system support that allows the client to contact the manufacturer for all questions about hardware and software and gives access to the manufacturer's online user platform, to initiate from the final acceptance test on-site d.Must provide service package, including i.Five years of software maintenance that gives access to all software updates, to initiate from the final acceptance test on-site ii.Five years of system support that allows the client to contact the manufacturer for all questions about hardware and software and gives access to the manufacturer's online user platform, to initiate from the final acceptance test on-site iii.Five years of system maintenance that provides the client with a yearly maintenance service of the system to keep it in best possible condition, to initiate from the final acceptance test on-site. Applications are based on scientifically proven protocols to measure baseline levels and to monitor progression over time. Objective outcome measures for different aspects of balance control are available 2.A set of dedicated applications to improve your patients' balance control using various fun and motivating training applications on a patient specific level. The training applications provide rich Virtual Reality game play elements. This provides active partial body weight support in real-time, which can be continuously adjusted between 0 and90 kg (200 lbs). The amount of weight support can be adjusted accurately through D-flow, for example using spatio-temporal parameters to adjust the body weight support at any moment in the gait cycle. A certificate is provided by the manufacturer ii.Training preparation and customization as well as travel and lodging are included 6.Items Available as an Option a.3D visualization System i.1 x high end active stereo projector ii.1 x 19" rack mounted image generator iii.All applicable cabling iv.Projector mounts v.Blending and warping software vi.4 x Edge RF glasses b.Trigno Wireless Sensors EMG system from Delsys i.The Trigno 16 channel wireless sensors EMG system consists of fully wireless sensors which means the subject's movement is not obstructed by wires ii.D-flow custom driver for integration 7.Miscellaneous a.System integrates existing and new technologies into medical research and application solutions in the field of orthopedics, neurology, rehabilitation medicine and sports b.System provides parameters traditionally found in gait reports, i.e. spatio-temporal parameters, kinematics, kinetics and data from the musculoskeletal Human Body Model (estimated muscle forces) in real-time c.Deviations in gait can be identified on the fly or using an off-line gait analysis tool, the deviating parameters can be modified using the functionality of the D-Flow software in a Virtual Environment with custom made applications d.Real time gait adaptations can be accomplished by affecting a gait parameter using real-time feedback at a specifically selected period during the gait cycle e.Offers a complete solution for gait analysis and gait re-training f.Complete gait lab is accomplished in approximately 269 sq ft g.Full gait analysis with gait report is available within 30 minutes h.All gait parameters are available in real-time for monitoring and interventions i.System enables gait training using VR and direct feedback j.Training options enable a 100% utilization rate including neurological- and orthopedic patients, patients' musculoskeletal complaints and elderly with increased risk of falling This RFI is only for identifying potential sources as part of NCO 21's Market Research. No RFQ exists. Responses to this RFI are not quotes on which the agency can issue any contracts. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Do not submit pricing information in response to this RFI. There is no commitment by the Government to issue an RFQ, make award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by industry responses to this RFI.
