Description

Replace Work Therapy Greenhouse, Project No. 538-13-103 - The general scope of this project is to build a new greenhouse workshop therapy space to the west of the existing T51 space at the Chillicothe, Ohio VA Medical Center. The existing T51 space shall be demolished with debris being removed from the site. The greenhouse T52, T54 and T55 shall have mechanical, electrical, limited roofing, and limited structure renovations. The site shall have demolition and relocation of trees and plantings, erosion control measures, grading, site establishment of permanent vegetation, new accessible walks, new concrete stairs, new canopy, and site utility work. The adjacent parking lot and roadway shall have utility cut repair for the utility work. New pavement markings shall be placed for the utility cut impacts and to add Architectural Barriers Act accessible parking to the site. Contractor shall completely prepare the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing items, and furnish labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete all new construction which includes but not limited to architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing for the construction, demolition, renovation, and site work associated with the greenhouse as well as other work as shown and specified per specifications and drawings. This work shall include infection control and dust prevention measures. Work to be completed within 365 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Plans, specifications and drawings will be available on line on or about July 1, 2015. All specifications and drawings will be available on line through this website and no hard copies will be issued. Estimated cost range is $500,000 to $1,000,000. A pre-bid conference will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. local time in Building 1, Room 156, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 17273 State Route 104, Chillicothe, Ohio. All potential contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers are urged to attend as this will be the only site visit for this project. Bid opening is Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. local time in Building 212, Room 135, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 17273 State Route 104, Chillicothe, Ohio. This project is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. Contractors bidding this project should ensure they are registered in VetBiz Registry at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/, under the appropriate NAICS code for this procurement.
