MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR SOLICITATION This is a sources sought to determine the availability and capability of small businesses capable of providing Hazardous Waste for FDA Nationwide including Puerto Rico. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is- 562112 - Hazardous Waste Collection; Small Business Size Standard is $38.5 Million. Background: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is responsible for arranging for proper disposal of chemical, medical pathological, radioactive and mixed wastes generated by the research laboratory activities within FDA facilities nationwide including Puerto Rico. Our laboratory operations include the use and generation of diversified chemical, radioactive, and medical pathological wastes of varying toxicities and quantities. FDA recognizes its responsibilities to ensure that its facilities are in compliance with existing and proposed regulations imposed upon entities which generate, transport, store, treat, and dispose of hazardous chemical compounds. The Agency acknowledges, however, that the field of hazardous waste disposal services is a dynamic and ever changing industry, which is significantly impacted by State and Federal regulations and by the influx of new technological advancements. It is therefore mandatory that the successful Contractor demonstrate a high level of competence and technical expertise comparable to that obtained through extensive experience and aggressive willingness to comply with applicable hazardous waste management regulations. To fully support this task the Contractor shall provide necessary full time employees with the applicable credentials to support environmental services for the FDA service locations. The Contractor shall provide, either directly or through qualified Sub-Contractors, all aspects of a comprehensive, cradle to grave chemical, radiological and medical pathological waste management service for FDA. Responses to this sources sought shall unequivocally demonstrate that respondent is regularly engaged in the proper disposal of chemical, medical pathological, radioactive and mixed wastes generated by the research laboratories. Though the target audience is small business all interested parties may respond. At a minimum, responses shall include the following: • Business name and bio, DUNS number, business address, business website, business size status (i.e., SB, VOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone SB, 8(a), SDB, WOSB, EDWOSB, LB), point of contact name, mailing address (if different from business address), phone number and email address; [Provide this same information again if responding to provide a product manufactured by another firm.] • If applicable, identification of the firm's GSA Schedule contract(s) by Schedule number and SINs that are applicable to this requirement; • If a large business, identify the subcontracting opportunities that would exist for small business concerns; and • Though this is not a request for quote, informational pricing is encouraged. The Government encourages any comments and/or suggestions from any interested party, regarding the requirement. While the Government will not respond directly to your comments and/or suggestions; we will consider them as we finalize the specifications in preparation for the forthcoming solicitation. The Government is not responsible for locating or securing any information, not identified in the response.
