- Description
- The 1157th Engineer Detachment will be conducting Annual Training from 2-16 AUGUST 2015 in Washington State. The 199th, 200th, and1157th Engineer Detachments (henceforth referred to as the 1157 Firefighters), Colorado Army National Guard require a full spectrum of live firefighting mission rehearsal exercises as a deployed expeditionary force to satisfy ARFORGEN Train/Ready Year 3 requirements (IAW AR 525-29, Figure 1-1). All training certificates must be accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Professional Qualifications System (Pro-Board) in order to receive DOD reciprocity (IAW DOD 6055.06-M). The training center shall comply with NFPA 1402 - Guide to Building Fire Service Training Centers. Firefighting instruction and events shall adhere to NFPA 1500 - Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and NFPA 403 - Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Services at Airports (IAW AR 420-1, Chapter 25). The 1157 Firefighters require firefighting instruction and live practical training exercises in fire behavior, urban search & rescue (to include heavy rescue and extrication), multiple company operations, flammable liquids, and aircraft rescue firefighting. All training events can be provided by the Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy (WSPFTA). The WSPFTA provides a 51 acre training center that serves career and volunteer firefighters for the States of Washington, Montana, Oregon, and California, as well as firefighters in the US Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and private industry firms such as Boeing. The Academy provides an Aircraft Rescue Firefighting prop for three fixed wing aircraft and one rotor wing aircraft. WSPFTA also provides props for training in flammable liquids, HAZMAT, urban search & rescue, and structural firefighting. The academy has the unique capability of utilizing Jet Propellant 8 fuel on the props, and allows firefighters to flow aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) to combat the fire. The academy meets all aforementioned NFPA regulations cited in this document.
