- On or about 10 June 2015, this office will issue Request for Proposals for construction of the Pipe Cable System Replacement, Fort Randall Dam, SD. The solicitation will close on or about 14 July 2015. This solicitation is set-aside for Small Business interests. A site visit date and time will be issued with the advertisement package. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The purpose of this project is to replace the existing oil filled cable system at the Fort Randall project. The four existing oil-filled 84MVA/ 4,000A feeders in the Power Tunnel from the powerhouse to the switchyard will be replaced with four solid dielectric EPR MV-105 118MVA/5,000A feeders, with 3,000A capacity per circuit configured as two circuits per feeder to meet the needs of the projected main unit uprates. Contractor design will be specified for the details of connecting the new terminations to the existing bus, and for the supplementary supports to be installed on the existing support structures to hold the additional cable trough. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10,000,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 1 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 950 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to SAM.
