Description: Approximately 11,722 acres of federal land is administered by the USACE Fort Randall Project. Said land starts from the Platte-Winner/Highway 44 Bridge and continues upstream along both riverbanks (including shoreline) of Lake Francis Case (in Charles Mix, Gregory, Brule, and Lyman Counties) to the southern boundaries of the Lower Brule and Crow Creek Indian Reservations. Noxious weed control and vegetation management are a component of our stewardship responsibilities. Spot spraying will be the main method of control.
