- Synopsis: Added: <input name="dnf_class_values[procurement_notice][description][0][added_on]" type="hidden" value="2015-05-18 10:28:50" /> May 18, 2015 10:28 am The U.S. Department of Agriculture, ARS, Sugarcane Field Station, Canal Point, FL intends to award a sole source procurement to Bruker Optics, Inc, 19 Fortune Dr, Billerica, MA 01821 for a Sugarcane Analysis System, applications to include: An integrated sugarcane stalk shredder and near-infrared spectrometer system for the purpose of analyzing large numbers of sugarcane samples for juice quality and fiber content. Our station requires a system with the following characteristics: •· Capable of processing 400 samples per day •· Sample capacity of up to 15 kg •· Capable of utilizing existing NIR calibration curves generated by other sugarcane breeding programs •· Capable of processing and analyzing unstripped, unwashed cane samples. •· NIR component must have the ability to accept signal inputs from more than one measuring device (e.g. probe, flow cell, etc.). This allows the NIR component to be used to analyze shredded cane samples and other sample types as part of additional experiments. Pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The equipment will be located at the USDA, ARS, Sugarcane Field Station, Canal Point, FL. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on or about June 22, 2015. This Notice of Intent is not considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received by 4:00PM Central Standard Time, June 19, 2015. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
