- BIOLOGICAL DETECTION SYSTEM PENTAGON FORCE PROTECTION AGENCY A. Purpose. This is a Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. B. Background. The Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear & Explosives (CBRNE) Directorate of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) provides scientific and technical advice on CBR threats, vulnerabilities, defenses and consequence management affecting the Pentagon Reservation and for DoD activities and DoD occupied facilities not under the jurisdiction of a Military Department within the NCR. The CBRNE Directorate is responsible for the acquisition, deployment, and maintenance of CBRNE equipment for detection and monitoring of CBRNE threats and protection of Pentagon personnel. C. Objectives. The purpose of this requirement is to provide biological detection capacity for the Pentagon. This requirement is a mission critical asset of PFPA. D. Anticipated Period of Performance. 30 September 2015 - 29 September 2016 E. Information Sought. Currently, PFPA utilizes Triggered CANARY (TCAN) system to provide the Pentagon with biological detection capability. The government is seeking information on biological detection systems to replace the current TCAN biological detector. Please provide information on the system that your company has the capability of performing. The biological system must meet the following specifications: - Accurately detect, identify and quantify the particle size of the biological threats, to include toxins, inside the Pentagon in five (5) minutes or less; - Capable of communicating data and alarms in near real-time to an integrating system at regular intervals;  - Provide information that can be used to determine and confirm the relative location of an interior biological release. F. Response Requirements. Responses to this notice must include: 1. Company name, address and phone number 2. DUNS Number 3. Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE) code 4. Size and type of business (e.g. 8(a), HUBZone, etc.) pursuant to NAICS code 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. 5. Primary Point of Contact name, phone number and email G. Deadline. The Government requests interested parties to submit their answers to the questions in Section F via email with the subject line via email with the subject line "PFPA TCAN B-CELLS" to Nnenna Njoku at nnenna.c.njoku.civ@mail.mil by 12:00 NOON ET on June 11, 2015. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in Federal Business Opportunities. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. Confidentiality.
