- Description
- NASA/KSC has a requirement for Three (3) Genesis 4 Channel Diff card, 100 MS/s, 1800MB RAM, differential, 14bit. Three (3)Genesis 7600 fiber optic receiver card; for 4 channels; 1800 MB RAM (900MS/ch); Single mode fiber optical transmission; analog monitor output per channel; only compatible with 7600 isolated digitizer. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from HBM Inc. The NASA WX Subsystem uses the HBM Genesis as their main transient recorder. This Genesis transient recorder went through testing and qualification for about three years and it's the heart of the WX Subsystem fast transient data acquisition system. HBM uses digitizers, which communicate via fiber optic cables to the fiber optic receiver cards housed in the Genesis transient recorder. The Genesis transient recorder being purchased will use digitizers that the WX Subsystem already owns, so we require a transient recorder that is compatible with the digitizers. HBM is the only vendor that manufactures the Genesis Transient Recorder. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Tyrone.J.Frey@nasa.gov no later than 3:30 p.m. local time on June 3rd, 2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html.
