- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY FLU KITS ENHANCED EMERGENCY CACHE TUSCALOOSA VA MEDICAL CENTER This is a request for information used to identify potential sources that are interested in and capable of delivering the items described in the Statement of Work below. STATEMENT OF WORK FLU KITS Enhanced Emergency Cache Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center Purpose The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center Medical Center needs an emergency cache (see picture below) consisting of medical supplies and durable to be ready for a patient surge due to infectious disease outbreak or disaster stemming from a bioterrorism attack or naturally occurring event. The purpose of the cache is to enable healthcare professionals to treat a rapid surge of patients in response to these incidents. This is required to be in line with CDC and VHA guidelines. In order for the emergency cache to be functional and save lives it must: o Maintain readiness o Deploy rapidly o Operate immediately o Facilitate efficient patient care Healthcare professionals cannot effectively and efficiently respond to a surge of patients with the "typical" medical cache. Standard "off the shelf" boxes do not meet the capability requirements or functionality for an efficient medical response. These challenges will be addressed by allowing previously purchased supplies to be "recycled" into a complete, manageable, highly-organized, sustainable, ready-to-deploy medical cache that will enable immediate and efficient treatment of patients. Scope of Work The contractor will be providing a 100% conversion of infectious disease pandemic response supplies and PPE. The cases shall be labeled with alphanumeric labeling and come with a Smart book indicating the contents, photographs, manufacturer, lot numbers, serial numbers, expiration dates, storage parameters and safety data sheets. The contractor shall be able and capable to perform the following task: 1.Coordinate logistics of the existing cache 2.Provide a gap analysis 3.Precisely determine the correct quantities of medical equipment and supplies required for the type incident and patient population by using an exclusive system design software. 4.Design Response-Friendly attributes into the medial system by using exclusive Flow Integration Design process to determine medical product location, medical case functional packaging and labeling, case and module priority identification and assembled position within the system. 5.Create list of all items that are expired and/or damaged 6.Dispose of items that are compromised, recalled or expired 7.Determine missing items, incompatible equipment and inappropriate quantities 8.Inventory all items and log critical data as applicable Item Description Quantity Manufacturer Lot # Serial # Expiration Date Storage Parameters 9.Organize all items into a Response-Friendly Cache 10.Organize by care-function (to the extent possible) 11.Label cases with vinyl alphanumeric lettering, a content tag and an internal packing list 12.Produce a customized Smart Book Managed Inventory Manual (facilitates future management and replenishment) 13.Provide photographs of the case contents 14.Line-item inventory of items and corresponding critical data 15.Provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS) 16.Provide recommended assets to complete the mission of the Medical Cache PHONE CALLS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
