- Department of Labor Wage Determination Macinac County, MI SF18 RFQ/RFP SCOPE OF WORK USCG STATION ST. IGNACE, MI REMOVE AND REPLACE STEEL EXTERIOR DOORS PART 1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION 1.1 The Coast Guard requires a contractor fully qualified to provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary to remove, and replace three exterior metal doors as described in this scope of work. 1.2 Work site is at USCG Station St. Ignace, 1075 Huron St., St. Ignace, MI 49781. PART 2 SCHEDULING 2.1 The contractor shall perform all site work during the normal operation hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Monday through Friday except during federal holidays. 2.2 Any deviations from normal working hours will be discussed with MK1 Justin E. Schmidt at 906-643-6402 and agreed upon by all parties concerned. 2.3 Those who desire access to the USCG Station St. Ignace facility for bidding or work are to contact MK1 Justin E. Schmidt, MK2 Robert Clark or MK3 Nick Schuller at 906-643-6402. 2.4 Contractor shall sign in and out of the stations visitor log daily upon arrival and departure of the station. PART 3 PREPARATIONS 3.1 Contractor is responsible for any permits that may be required by Michigan state law and the local governments. 3.2 The contractor, his employees and sub contractors shall become familiar with and obey all station regulations. PART 4 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT 4.1 The Coast Guard will not provide any materials or equipment. The contractor shall supply all materials and equipment needed. 4.2 The contractor's equipment shall be conspicuously marked for identification. PART 5 DESCRIPTION OF WORK 5.1 Take all precautions to protect the surrounding area including boardwalks, sidewalks, vegetation, and building. 5.2 The Contractor shall properly remove and dispose of 3 exterior metal doors, frames, hardware, and exterior trim. 5.3 The Contractor is to install two (2) new 35 ½" x 83" all steel doors and frames into brick building. Doors are to be 18 gauge, hollow, galvanized metal and frames are to be 16 gauge galvanized. Doors are to have 24" x 36" shatterproof glass windows. 5.4 The Contractor is to install 3 new 60" x 83" all steel double-door and frame into brick building. Doors are to be 18 gauge, hollow, galvanized metal and frame are to be 16 gauge galvanized. Doors are to have 17" x 36" shatterproof glass windows. 5.5 All doors to have sweeps, weather stripping thresholds, stainless steel pull handles, stainless steel push plates, 3 sets of 4 ½ NRP stainless steel hinges, kick down door holders and stainless steel kick plates. The double door shall be equipped with a mechanical push button lock. All doors are required to meet emergency exit safety requirements. 5.6 All hardware and fasteners are to be stainless steel. 5.7 New doors, frames, and trim are to be primed with grey oil based enamel paint. 5.8 The Contractor is to install new weather stripping, and install door closures and locks. 5.9 All work shall be performed in a professional manner, in strict adherence to equipment manufacturer standards and recommendations, and adhere to current codes, ordinances and OSHA safety regulations. 5.10 The contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all trash and debris pertaining to the contract work from the limits of government property, as well as adjacent affected areas. 5.11 Disposal of HAZMAT shall be in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations PART 6 ACCEPTANCE OF WORK / QUALITY ASSURANCE 6.1 Prior to the acceptance of work by the Coast Guard the contractor shall arrange through MK1 Justin E. Schmidt a review of work completed to ensure work satisfaction as well as proper clean up. Completed work shall meet the written scope of work. Any work that does not meet the approval of the U.S. Coast Guard representative shall be immediately corrected. Unsatisfactory work shall be redone at the contractor's expense. 6.2 The Contractor shall provide all warranty information upon completion of the project. 6.2 Coast Guard Point of Contact info: MK1 Justin E. This contract will require contractors to pay their laborers and mechanics employed under this contract no less than the locally prevailing wage and fringe benefits for the corresponding work on similar projects in the area.
