Description

Contractor shall completely prepare the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing items, and furnish labor, material and equipment necessary to perform work for project 538-115, entitled Correct Safety Issues for Acute Mental Ward, B35CD at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio, as required by drawings and specifications. This work will be to complete all new construction, including but not limited to architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing for the renovation of the second floor of Building 35 as well as other work as shown and specified. The work will include targeted rehab of limited portions of the second floor. This will include creating a number of shared shower/toilet rooms accessed directly from the patient bedrooms. Improvements to correct safety issues include anti-ligature door hardware, hard ceilings in all bedrooms and new tamper-resistant steel covers over all fan coil units located in bedrooms. Work to be completed within 300 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Plans, specifications and drawings will be available on line on or about April 30, 2015. All specifications and drawings will be available on line through this website and no hard copies will be issued. Estimated cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. A pre-bid conference will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. (local time) in Building 1, Room 121, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 17273 State Route 104, Chillicothe, Ohio; all prospective contractors, subcontractors and suppliers are urged to attend. This will be the only site visit scheduled for this project. Bid Opening is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2015 at 1 P.M. (local time) in Building 212, Room 135, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 17273 State Route 104, Chillicothe, Ohio. This project is 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veterans Owned Small Business. Contractors bidding this project should ensure they are registered in VetBiz Registry at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, under the appropriate NAICS code for this procurement.
