- Description
- Work shall provide Aviation Experimentation and Modeling Subject Matter Experts(SME) supporting the Air Maneuver Battle Lab (AMBL) experimentation and modeling requirements at Fort Rucker, AL. These individuals must have extensive background knowledge and staff planning of the full range of Army Aviation functions. These SMEs must have the ability to execute detailed planning of Combat Aviation Brigade missions in a joint, combined environment and integration into classified scenarios. SMEs must have a detailed knowledge of current and future aircraft systems, Aviation Survivability Equipment (ASE) and Army Aviation Weapon Systems. Background knowledge of enemy weapon systems that are threats to Army Aviation is desired. These SMEs will function and develop Operations Orders, and executed detailed air mission planning from the individual aircraft, to multiple Aviation Brigade levels in support of constructive, virtual, and networked live simulation experiments. These SMEs will plan and integrate Army Aviation participation in a joint and combined virtual environment. These SMEs must work flexible hours during constructive and live experimentation. SMEs must understand and de-conflict virtual combat operations with other Army combat functions and Joint aircraft and associated capabilities. SMEs will be required to stay current and informed of latest science and technology trends as well as operational trends and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) that influence Army Aviation. SMEs will at times serve as role players during live and constructive experiments as field grade Officers or Battalion or Brigade Commanders or Key staff members. Previous experience in these types of operations is highly desired. These SMEs must have detailed knowledge of software used by the Army Aviation Experimentation and Analysis Element, specifically, in depth knowledge of the Advanced Tactical Combat Operations Model (ATCOM). ATCOM is the software tool by which AMBL executes all experimentation modeling and simulation and is the only advanced kinetic model of its kind to support the Aviation experimentation practice. Detailed knowledge of ATCOM software inputs and subsequent troubleshooting of autonomous and directed behaviors of ATCOM entities is required. In addition to ATCOM software knowledge, knowledge of Generic Unmanned Supervisory Segment (GUSS), XIG Visual Systems, and Advanced Data Analysis Presentation Toolkit (ADAPT) software is required. This effort will require 1.5 to 2 man years of simulator technical software and hardware integration support. AMBL maintains 4 non-motion Army Aviation visual simulators that support experimentation. AMBL uses these re-configurable simulators to test designs of future airframes. Contractor will be responsible for hardware and software integration and configuration of these simulators.
