- Description
- Special Notice FBO SPECIAL NOTICE SOLICITATION NOTICE #315-00286 The USDA National Animal Disease Center in Ames, IA, intends to award the procurement of the production of 9 recombinant turkey proteins for the immunization of laboratory animals to generate turkey-specific monoclonal antibodies to Genscript Corp. This production will include the use of BacPower Guaranteed Protein Service, producing a minimum of 75% pure recombinant 6X-histidine tagged turkey proteins. In addition, the contractor will provide the MonoExpress Basic Antibody Service producing up to 5 antigen-specific hybridomas per each recombinant turkey protein. Initial supernatants of the hybridomas must be delivered to the USDA researcher within 45 days of animal immunization for the researcher to evaluate. Contractor will be required to perform associated activities for this project (e.g., codon optimization of gene, gene synthesis, subcloning, protein expression and purification, animal immunization, hybridoma generation, hybridoma screening, determination of ELISA titer, western blot reactivity and immunoglobulin purification) in-house. Work on generating all 9 turkey recombinant proteins and hybridomas must be performed simultaneously to expedite results. All hybridomas for this product produced must remain intellectual property of the United States Department of Agriculture. Delivery of all completed project materials (e.g., recombinant protein expression, hybridomas and purified monoclonal antibodies) must be guaranteed to the USDA researcher by August 31, 2015. This procurement will be conducted in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 13.106 and 6.303-2. The purchase determination is based on the requirement of the simultaneous produced product. No known contractors are able to provide the required antibodies in the necessary timeframe as required for ongoing research. The cost has been determined fair and reasonable based on current technical knowledge of fair market value. The anticipated purchase order value is $48,342.00. This is not a request for quotation. However, all interested parties may contact the Contract Specialist listed below. Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can produce the necessary recombinant proteins, hybridomas and purified monoclonal antibodies. Responses must be submitted electronically, via email, to lara.j.hicok@aphis.usda.gov. The deadline for the submittal of responses is 12:00 pm Central Standard Time, March 30, 2015.
