- The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is posting this sources sought announcement for acquisition planning relative to a landscape construction project under the jurisdiction of the United States Botanic Garden. All qualified concerns may submit capability statements for consideration. The capability statements will be used to determine appropriate procurement strategy for maximizing competition with companies with the necessary experience and certifications to meet Sustainable SITES v2. This information will be used to identify potential sources that have the unique experience necessary to accomplish the project. Interested parties should demonstrate knowledge with sustainable landscape construction projects that have included work in soil work/excavation, manufactured soils, specialized plant procurement, concrete work, ADA Accessibility, reused/recycled hardscape materials, landscaping, stone masonry, irrigation/plumbing, and electrical. The project involves the renovation and revitalization of the accessibility, safety, and sustainability of Bartholdi Park, using SITES v2 Guidelines. The site is located at the United States Botanical Gardens (USBG) in Washington, DC and adjacent to within the US Capitol's security perimeter. Construction in this effort will include an edible garden, new accessible pathways from recycled material, permeable paving, new concrete pavement, storm water infiltration, and other plantings. The existing Northwest fountain will be repurposed from an ornamental feature into the lowest catchment of a series of rain garden features. A garden with plants suited for wet and dry soils will replace what was once the fountain water. As a corridor to/from the House Offices, to the Capitol, and to the adjacent American Veterans Disabled for Life, this project will make Bartholdi Park accessible, safe, and educational. It is anticipated that this project will be submitted for Sustainable SITES v2 Certification. Capability Statements must include the following: Experience: Contractors are to submit project example(s) that illustrates your firm's capability and to demonstrate experience in sustainable landscape projects or sustainable/green standards such as LEED with strong Sustainable Sites component, LEED Neighborhood Development (ND), with sustainable landscape elements or similiar. In support of this, contractor will provide at least one (1) project example where your firm has performed work on landscape projects such as Sustainable SITES criteria OR one to three (1-3) with Sustainable Sites credits in LEED (LEED ND, LEED BD+C), Green Globes NC, Stars, Living Building Challenge(LBC) or Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Rating. • Project sheet(s) shall contain the following information where applicable: 1. Project Name 2. Project Location 3. Reference - Contracting Agency/Owner/Point of Contact (POC)/POC current phone number and email address 4. Date of Award, contract completion date, and actual completion date - you may provide explanation for the differences. 5. Key Personnel 6. Sub-Contractors- if a General Contractor, please include primary sub-contractors including Landscape Contractor 7. Description of the Project as it relates to the Bartholdi Park project description 8. Project cost estimate and actual project cost - contractor may provide explanation for any modifications. 9. Project Schedule - Projected and Actual 10. Up to one page of project photos Management: Contractor to provide proposed management team, identifying key personnel and their roles in the management of this project. Provide an organizational chart diagramming the relationships and hierarchy on the team and potential subcontractors. 1. Key Personnel -must have demonstrated knowledge of sustainable construction methods such as Sustainable Sites credits in LEED (LEED ND, LEED BD+C), Green Globes NC, Stars, Living Building Challenge (LBC) or Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Rating. 2. Key Personnel submitted must also have demonstrated experience in documentation process for submission of Sustainable Sites credits in LEED (LEED ND, LEED BD+C), Green Globes NC, Stars, Living Building Challenge (LBC) or Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Rating. 3. Potential subcontractors if applicable such as landscape planting, hardscape, masonry, irrigation/plumbing and qualifications. Financial capability: Contractor to demonstrate their ability to meet financial responsibilities.
