Description
RFI Vendor Fair - Industry Day March 26 2015 Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Hospital- Bedford Massachusetts - Sequential Compression Device (SCD) Request for Information 200 Springs Road, Room 127, Building 67, Bedford, Massachusetts, 01730, 9:00.m. - 2:00p.ml (Eastern) Veterans Integrated Service Network, New England (VISN 1) invites manufacturers of Sequential Compression Devices (SCD) to show and demonstrate their SCD product line to clinicians and clinical engineers of VISN 1 on March 26, 2015. To register and enroll in the event please contact: John Young, Contracting Officer, john.young2@va.gov (401-455-4908). Please read the statement and format below; download and save the two (2) attached maps of Building 67 and the Edith Nourse Rogers Campus and accompanying parking directions. Statement: VISN 1 is presently composed of the six New England States (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT) with VA Medical Facilities in each state. Clinical, Clinical Engineering and Acquisition personnel request manufacturers of Sequential Compression Devices (SCD) to demonstrate the use, operation, features and application of their devices as part of the VA New England's effective and efficient program of thromboembolism prophylaxis. Thromboembolism is a major source of morbidity and death among hospital patients; the risk of deep vein thrombosis and embolism may be mitigated by an effective program and Sequential Compression Devices (SCD) are part of the risk mitigation. Manufacturers are invited to dynamically demonstrate the full range (foot, calf (knee), leg) of their product line, including all modules (garments and pump). Format: Manufacturers will be afforded an opportunity to dynamically present and point out all features and functions their SCD product line. Of keen interest to practitioner are: intuitive ease of use, patient comfort, demonstration of set up and application of the device, modularization (foot, calf (knee), leg), doff & don, positioning of the device, sound level (decibels) at operation including full power, audio and visual alarms and fail-safe features, mitigation of trip hazard and portability Also of interest to the Clinical Engineering community are elementary diagnostic tools, ease of tear down (display of an opened pump is highly welcomed and encouraged) maintenance and repair including battery backup recycling and the "lock out" of any data port (e.g. USB or micro USB ports etc.). Because the garments are a significant part of the system you should also demonstrate the packaging, labeling and marking of a packaged garment along with the label (e.g. lot, date of manufacture, bar code etc.). Vendors may distribute product literature, however product literature of wares that are not demonstrated is not permitted. For this reason you should restrict yourself to expounding on the products that you are actually demonstrating; you may demonstrate more than one SCD device; however all devices must be presently 510k commercially available on the date of the Vendor Fair. Government Furnished Material: The VA will furnish your firm a table, commercial power, sufficient space for two (2) manufacturer personnel, adequate time for set up and tear down, parking (see attached map). Manufacturers should bring power cords and power strips. Two (2) personnel from the manufacturer are adequate; a large entourage is unnecessary. Contractors may use the VA Cafeteria, however no beverages or food shall be provided. Manufacturing personnel shall restrict their activities to that which is required to thoroughly present their wares and not use the occasion for other marketing or general marketing calls or other business other than the Vendor Fair itself. Park only in the large lot approximately 100 yards North of building 61. Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Hospital is an active treatment facility; in the event of an evacuation or code instructions will be given. You will be expected to sign in on a roster. Time and Location: 200 Springs Road, Room 127, Building 67, Bedford, Massachusetts, 01730, 9:00.m. - 2:00p.m (Eastern). ** You may commence set-up of your display at 0745 a.m.. The Vendor Fair - Industry Day is a Market Research event under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. The purpose of the Vendor Fair is for Clinical, Clinical Engineering and Acquisition personnel to better understand the current capabilities in the commercial market to furnish robust, reliable, modular systems. The results of the Vendor Fair - Industry Day may inform the VA's Acquisition Plans in the release of any solicitation or requirement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 339113, the Federal Supply Code (FSC) is 6530 (Physiotherapy). Policies of the Small Business Administration (SB) respecting the Non-Manufacturer Rule (NMR) are set forth at: https://www.sba.gov/sites/default/files/articles/NMR%20CLASS%20WAIVER%20LIST-AS%20OF%2001-01-2015_3.pdf And at: https://www.sba.gov/content/class-waivers The VA welcomes new entrants to the industry including small business manufacturers. You may register by contacting: john.young2@va.gov, (401) 455-4908, Contracting Officer; give the name(s) of the personnel in your party and the Manufacturer you are representing.
