- A Principal Investigator (PI) has partnered with the NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) on an orbital Earth Science mission in anticipation of a call for Venture-class investigations, or Earth Venture Mission-2. Earth Venture (EV) class missions consist of a series of uncoupled, relatively low-to-moderate cost, small to medium-sized, full orbital and sub-orbital missions, and instruments which are regularly solicited and competitively selected Earth Science investigations as recommended by the recent National Research Councils decadal survey in Earth science, Earth Science and Applications from Space: National Imperatives for the Next Decade and Beyond (The National Academies Press, 2007, available at http://www.nap.edu/catalog.php?reco rd_id=11820 ). Additional Information The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Glenn Research Center (GRC) is seeking capability statements for the requested instrument which meets or exceeds the above mentioned specifications, from all interested parties regardless of business size or status, for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. In addition to and in order to help determine the appropriate level of competition, responses should include the following: name and address of firm, CAGE code/DUNS number, and GSA contract number (if applicable) This request for information is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement.
