Description
The Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky has a requirement for a General Contractor to replace multiple Air Handling Units (Phase V), as part of an ongoing strategy to improve the facility assessment conditions at the medical center campus. Work shall include but is not limited to the replacement of AHU-1A, AHU-2A, AHU-3A by new combined AHU-1A. The purpose of this project is to replace in kind the existing air handling units included in Phase V. The resulting contract action shall also include provisions for training two (2) VA personnel offsite at a designated factory authorized facility. NAICS code 238220 is applicable to this requirement. The small business size standard is $14M. This requirement is being procured pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 14, as a Seal Bid. Solicitation to be available for download on or by April 3, 2015 on the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.vetbiz.gov This project is being procured as a 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concern under the authority of 38 U.S.C. Section 8127 (d). To be eligible for award an eligible SDVOSB must be listed and viewable in the Vendor Information Pages at the Center for Verification & Eligibility at the time of bid submission. In addition, contractor must also have an active status in the System for Award Management, and must not have any exclusions for government contracts. Furthermore, all Bidders must submit evidence with their bid from an acceptable Surety (as determined by the Department of Veteran Affairs-Contracting Officer), demonstrating an Experience Modification Rating (EMR) of less than 1. Failure for any Bidder to provide this information as part of their bidding package, shall deem such Bidder as "non-responsive". The estimated cost of construction is between $1, 000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00.
