Austin, Contracting Officer robert.w.austin@usace.army.mil The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District intends to solicit for Maintenance Dredging of the Detroit River near the outlet of the Huron River at Berlin Charter Township, Michigan. The project will require the contractor to mobilize to the project work area, hydraulically or mechanically dredge approximately 96,000 cubic yards of silt, sediment, and associated material from the river bottom, and then to dispose of dredged material at the Pointe Mouillee Confined Disposal Facility. The project also includes road grading and placement of additional road surface stone at the Disposal Facility, plus clearing and grubbing of surface vegetation on the Disposal Facility dike complex. Demobilize from the area when complete. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This Project is being procured as a 100% Small Business Set-aside. The Government intends to issue a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard for this requirement is $27.5 million in average annual receipts. The tentative date for posting the solicitation is 8 May 2015, with award of contract by the end of June 2015. The solicitation package will include drawings/plans and specifications. The solicitation package will be available only electronically via FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov. Requests for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax, or email will not be honored, as contractors must download the documents through the FedBizOpps website. In order for interested contractors to conduct business with the Federal Government, contractors must register their firms at the System for Award Management (SAM).
