The physicians use this make and model on a daily basis to perform procedures and rely heavily on them. Standardization has become more and more important with regard to Reusable Medical Equipment. Standardization of equipment is a cornerstone with regard to ensuring safe and consistent reprocessing. Every manufacturer has its' own recommendations for cleaning and sterilization so mixing different device manufacturers can lead to confusion. To be included with the Arthroscopy Forceps Instruments Set: oOne year warranty oTwo operator manuals The VA intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12. The VA intends to negotiate a firm fixed- price contract with ADVANCED SCIENTIFIC ENTERPRISE, INC., 5474 Complex Street, Suite 501, San Diego, CA 92123, a small business distributor for ARTHREX INC. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339113, with a size standard of 500 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. Interested parties that believe they can meet this requirement must supply information about their capabilities to the Contract Specialist no later than 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), March 20, 2015. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
