- Description
- PROPOSERS' DAY CONFERENCE DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Workshop in support of the Shared Spectrum Access for Radar and Communications (SSPARC) program on April 2, 2015 at 3865 Wilson Boulevard #800, Arlington, VA 22203, in the ManTech Conference center from 8:00 AM Eastern to 1:30 PM Eastern. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the SSPARC program and the SSPARC Coexistence Phase 2 Solicitation (DARPA-BAA-15-24); promote additional discussion on this topic; and address questions from potential proposers. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The objective of the SSPARC program is spectrum sharing between radar and communications systems, through leveraging information sharing and cooperation between the systems. In the Coexistence Phase 2 solicitation, DARPA is soliciting research proposals for work enabling coexistence of communications systems with existing or near-future radar systems. Projects under Phase 1 of SSPARC studied two radars, the AN/SPY-1 (used in the Aegis Combat System) and the AN/TPS-80 (G/ATOR - Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar). Phase 2 projects may consider either of these radars or other S-band ground or naval-surface radars. Projects under Phase 1 of SSPARC studied several communications systems, including the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW), Harris Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform (ANW2), and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) a fourth generation commercial wireless communications standard. Phase 2 projects may consider any of these systems or other military and commercial communications systems. The end goal of Phase 2 coexistence projects is to develop the spectrum sharing technology to the state of a limited field demonstration. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: All requests should be sent via email to DARPA-BAA-15-24@darpa.mil. A separate email should be sent for each of the below requests. 1. To register, send an email with the word "REGISTRATION" and the name of your organization in the subject line. Participants must register no later than 4 PM Eastern, March 26, 2015 and must send visit request forms as described below by the same deadline. There is no registration fee for attending this workshop. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to fifty (50) registrants. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. However, if the space limit is exceeded, organizations will be restricted to two spaces each. One registration email should be sent per organization. It should include the names of all attendees and indicate which two individuals should be accomodated in the event of an overflow. It should indicate for each attendee whether they are a U.S. citizen or a foreign national. To support teaming, DARPA intends to distribute a roster of the names and email addresses of workshop attendees to all attendees after the workshop. If you wish to be included, the registration email should state that permission is granted to include the provided names and email addresses in the distributed roster. Absence of a permission statement will be treated as denial of permission. 2. To request a one-on-one meeting with the SSPARC Program Manager, send a separate email with the word "MEETING" and the name of your organization in the subject line. A limited number of time slots are available on April 2 and April 3, 2015 for one-on-one meetings with the SSPARC Program Office. Time slots will be 15 minutes long and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Teleconference will be supported on April 2, 2015, if requested. State in the request email the names of all attendees and, for each attendee, whether they are a U.S. citizen or a foreign national. VISITOR INFORMATION: The Proposers' Day will be unclassified and open to the general public. All attendees are required to complete visitor forms in advance and present photo identification upon entry to the event. Required forms and detailed visitor instructions including parking information and acceptable forms of identification are available at http://www.darpa.mil/About/Contact/Visitor_Guidelines.aspx.
