Description
Sources Sought Remote Site Chlorinator for Remote Well ** A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED ** The National Park Service, Virginia Major Acquisition Buying Office (VA-MABO), is conducting market research on behalf of Delaware Water Gap to identify domestic products, suppliers, and manufacturers for a remote site chlorinator with vault for remote well. The VA-MABO may anticipate issuance of a separate solicitation in the future, within the next 6-months for one unit. Proposals and Quotes are not acceptable under this Sources Sought. The product specifications are as follows: REMOTE SITE CHLORINATOR with CONTAINMENT VAULT for Remote Well. A manually operated self-contained chlorine disinfection system, that contains all required hardware and fitting to treat water at a primitive remote site for supply of drinking water. Characteristics of Unit: 1. Unit able to use either Chlorination: tablets or liquid as disinfection material. 2. Unit must be 100% manual requiring no form of electricity, unit will work entirely from the action of the pump handle. 3. Unit must connect to a typical manual hand pump which connects to 6 inch well. Contractor must supply all adaptable hardware to connect typical hand pump or supply manual hand pump if required. 4. Unit will come with all hardware and pump connections and field installation instructions. THE DISINFECTION PROCESS Chlorinator must work in conjunction with a standard long handled hand pump mounted atop a 4 ¿ to 6 ¿ well casing. The chlorinator must assure complete dissolution of the tablets or solution and deliver a stream, (at any rate) containing 0.3 to 2.0 PPM of free chlorine to the pump discharge. - System can be as large as necessary to deliver proper chlorination concentrations and properly disinfect drinking water regulated by manual pumping demand. - Unit must have features that make it able to be winterized. These features are low level drain valves and/or fitting disconnects. - Unit must be convertible / adaptable to typical / standard hand pump installation by externally connections. Or if not possible contractor must supply or recommend hand pump that is able to adapt to chlorination unit. - Unit must have a lockable containment system that is vandal proof and / or resistant. - Unit will be installed in the State of Pennsylvania. It must meet all Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) regulations for chlorination disinfection systems. Critical to proper performance of this unit is the delivery of drinking water stream that test at a stream containing 0.3 to 2.0 Parts Per Million of free chlorine delivered to the pump discharge. MANUFACTURER CONTAINMENT VAULT Manufacturer must supply unit containment vault to house chlorination unit. Size of containment vault must allow service accessibility and/or ease of removal to service. Size of containment unit will be as large as necessary to house chlorination unit. Vault may be subsurface or surface mounted. Vault must be water tight and include a feature that allows the locking of containment unit. Interested sources should respond no later than 1600 EST on February 6, 2015. This is not a Request for Proposals or Quotes. It is noted that all information submitted will not be returned. The Government will not make payment or reimburse interested sources, under no circumstances, for information being requested under this Sources Sought Request. Interested sources should submit: 1. Product literature with specifications, or any technical literature available to consumers. 2. State if product is available commercially and/or can be modified to meet specifications and without voiding product warranties and product commerciality. 4. Socio-economic size status and Small Business classification if applicable. 5. Business Entity information and Federal Government Sales contact(s) if available. 6.
