- The US Army RDECOM-ARDEC in collaboration with RDAR-WSW-A is seeking sources with information regarding current state of the art, electronic vehicle stopping technology to aid in requirements development, feasibility assessment, and potential technology roadmap creation. Applications of interest employ high power radio frequency (RF) or high voltage to stop convoys, tech vehicles, i.e., sedans, pickups, etc., heavy trucks, tank transports, gas and diesel. The technology utilized must result in minimal or no collateral damage to the surrounding environment, vehicle occupants, or nearby personnel. The Request for Information is intended to give the research community an opportunity to provide input to RDECOM-ARDEC regarding existing technologies and rapidly-advancing research that will aid requirements development and ultimately have an impact on materiel solutions. The response should include descriptions of the following: 1.Current electronic vehicle stopping systems capabilities including: a.Technology used and descriptions of techniques b.Function i.System ii.Major Components iii.Multiple or single use c.Power Requirements d.Size & Weight i.Total System ii.Major Components e.Current range or engagement standoff distance if applicable 2.System testing /demonstration including targeted vehicles, definition of success, & success rate 3.Technical Readiness Level (see https://acc.dau.mil/CommunityBrowser.aspx?id=23170) and justifications for claimed TRL. 4.Types of vehicles the system has been demonstrated to stop. a.Compare actual targeted test vehicles to the list provided in the background above. b.If technology is at the bench testing level, provide a brief synopsis of what would be required to achieve a deployable system and the associated timeline. 5.Efforts that would be required to achieve a self contained - self operating deployable device. 6.Contact Information of the respondent, experts consulted in formulation of the response and Government point of contact if work was or is being performed for the Government. a.Name b.Email c.Phone d.Business Address 7. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
