Description
Call In and Webinar Access Information This is a SPECIAL NOTICE to announce an INDUSTRY DAY for SUPERSTORM SANDY REGIONAL DREDGING PROJECTS to be held on 03 March 2015, beginning 11:00 am. The purpose of this event is to allow the Government the opportunity to provide to interested dredging companies a brief overview of the requirements for upcoming dredging contracts within USACE North Atlantic Division's area of responsibility, as well as to obtain valuable feedback and address specific questions from dredging companies relating to the many planned hurricane and shoreline protection risk reduction projects and maintenance dredging projects. OVERVIEW The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, North Atlantic Division's continental United States (CONUS) Districts (New York District and Philadelphia District) are evaluating the use of dredged material to repair federally designed and constructed hurricane / shore protection projects damaged by Superstorm Sandy as well as channels already included in the Fiscal Year 2015 Operations and Maintenance and New Work Navigation Channel Dredging Programs. Upcoming shoreline rehabilitation projects could involve transportation of dredged material from nearby federal navigation channels and/or off-shore borrow sites with beach placement and/or placement in emergency stockpiles. Maintenance dredging projects may include dredged material placement in open water or upland dredged material placement sites depending upon the specific project requirements. THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
