- DESCRIPTION: The NOAA SHIP Reuben Lasker, a Fishery Survey Vessels (FSV) operated by NOAA, was built by Marinette Marine Corporation, and was commissioned on May 2, 2014. The Reuben Lasker is one of the most technologically advanced fisheries vessels in the world. The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office of Marine and Aviation Operations has a requirement for dockside ship inspection services and repairs in San Diego, CA. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and supervision, except as otherwise noted, to provide the required services listed below. This will be accomplished by running new exhaust piping from the deck penetration to the new location. • Hazmat Dampers - Install 4 new gas and fire tight dampers in the supply and exhaust terminals outside of two lockers. These dampers will be provided by the Government, but will require sections of gas tight piping, mounting, powering/wiring, and connections to the CO2 system pressure switch. • Fuel Oil Containment - Fabricate stainless steel trays, and secure these under fuel oil valves. • CO2 Piping Modification - Remove threaded CO2 piping and replace with welded stainless steel piping. System pressure test will be required. • Lifeline and Stanchions - Install stanchions and lifelines across a 16 foot span located in the forward section of the exhaust stack. • General Insulation - Install insulation as required by regulation on piping returns and ventilation ducting.
