Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Varian Medical Systems, INC, 6811 Spencer Street, Las Vegas, NV 89119-4601 for emergency repairs to the Varian TRILOGY Linear Accelerator IGRT System located at the VA's University Drive Medical Center, University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (only 1 responsible source) and 6.302-2 (unusual and compelling urgency) as it is believed that only Varian can perform the necessary emergency repairs and because there is otherwise insufficient time for any attempted competition. This notice of intent is not for competitive quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 332510. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document is available. However, parties may express their interest accompanied by supporting literature by email to Cheryl Honick, Contracting Officer, no later than February 13 at 4:15 p.m. EST. Responses should be sent to cheryl.honick@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the VAPHS Contracting Officer.
