- This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. Anniston Army Depot has a requirement for firefighter daily work boots. The Anniston Army Depot is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large, and small business concerns. Small business concerns are defined under the associated North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this effort, 316210 Footwear Manufacturing; Size Standard is 1,000 Employees. Please include your company's size classification and socio-economic status in any response to this notice. Responses to this notice must be submitted electronically to the Contract Specialist T. Morey Gaddy, troy.m.gaddy2.civ@mail.mil (telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged). quote mark Firefighter daily work boots quote mark must appear in the subject line of the email or it will be deleted and not read. Responses must be received no later than 18 February 2015 at 4:00 PM (CST). Interested vendors are requested to submit a statement of the capabilities of their organization with respect to the government's Request for Information. Responses should include: 1. Prospective firm's name, address, phone number, socioeconomic status and DUNS number 2. General information of firm's previous experience on at least two projects of a similar scope, complexity and value; including the title, location, brief description of work, and dollar value. All products must comply with the requirements of the Berry Amendment. The Berry Amendment is a statutory requirement that restricts the Department of Defense (DoD) from using funds appropriated or otherwise available to DoD for procurement of food, clothing, fabrics, fibers, yarns, other made-up textiles, and hand or measuring tools that are not grown, reprocessed, reused, or produced in the United States. In accordance with the Berry Amendment, These boots MUST BE MADE IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES ONLY. The requirements for the firefighter's daily work boot is the following: - Be of the uniform / duty type boot - Be black in color - Be polishable - Blood Born Pathogen - Have safety toe protection - Be labeled as being NFPA 1999 - Be offered in both a low cut and high cut boot to meet the wearer's preference - The higher boot offered must have a zipper either built into the boot or have a zipper that can be laced into the laces. The work boots must be in accordance with NFPA 1999: Standard on Protective Clothing for Emergency Medical Operation, 2013 Edition This standard shall specify the minimum design, performance, testing, documentation, and certification requirements for new single-use and new multiple-use emergency medical operations protective clothing, including garments, helmets, gloves, footwear, and face protection devices, used by emergency medical responders prior to arrival at medical care facilities, and used by medical first receivers at medical care facilities during emergency medical operations. Multiple-Use Emergency Medical Footwear Product Label Requirements. Each footwear item shall have a product label or labels permanently and conspicuously attached inside each footwear item when the footwear is properly donned. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI.
