Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Statement of Objectives: The U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) seeks to procure the software/hardware to conduct a study which will describe skin interface pressure and alterations in transcutaneous oxygen (PtcO2) levels in the human skin over high risk body areas. This study aims to determine efficacy of interventions to minimize interface pressure and shear and optimize tissue perfusion over high risk body areas under conditions simulating transport. This study will establish baseline conditions and determine if there is a progressive change in any of the physiological conditions over the loading period. It will determine effect of commercial off the shelf products on pressure and shear-induced alterations in tissue perfusion over simulated transport. Finally, the project aims to evaluate under quote mark real world quote mark conditions - (i.e., obtain airworthiness for equipment - and test during training flight either on rotary wing or fixed wing. Software Support and Maintenance: The vendors will providel 2 month warranty on mattress and software system, to include repair or replacement and technical phone assistance. Software upgrades and/or maintenance releases will be provided at no additional cost to the Government during the period of this contract and for one year following delivery. Remote Technical Support/Help Desk: Vendor shall provide during normal hours of operation (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM Mountain Time) to provide remote support to report and diagnose system problems. This should be accomplished utilizing a toll free number in CONUS, or via the web, and should include the following services: Determine the nature of the problem(s) customer reports Identify appropriate corrective action Provide solution/answer to customer's technical issue/questions related to product On-Site Installation and Training: None
