- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for use license for the CorePCIF Intelectual Property (IP) core. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Microsemi Soc Corp. The product we intend to procure from Microsemi is a use license for the CorePCIF Intelectual Property (IP) core. The CorePCIF IP Core is a highly specialized set of firmware programming that provide PCI bus connectivity using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices. This IP core will be utilized by NASA GSFC as part of a heritage build of FPGA programming that previously used this IP core as a component of the FPGA programming in the Space Switching Unit (SSU) subsystem. This heritage FPGA programming that utilizes CorePCIF cannot be modified, and must remain unchanged from the heritage configuration in order for the LCRD mission to be successful, and to be compatible with the heritage design LCRD is utilizing. The CorePCIF IP Core provides essential functionality and configuration that is highly specialized and can only be met by this product from Microsemi. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing via email to Kristal Kerr no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 24, 2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html.
