Questions and Answers VA118-14-I-0419 February 2, 2015 1.Question: Can you confirm the name of the current contractor fulfilling this requirement? Answer: SunGard Availability Services 2.Question: How long have they held the contract? Answer: The current contract was awarded on April 1, 2014. The period of performance is a six-month base period with four, six-month option periods. 3.Question: Was this a small business set aside previously? Answer: No 4.Question: Is the amount for the previous award below the $4M range and could this contract be addressed through an 8(a) directed award? Answer: Award notice was published to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website upon award. Please see FBO. 5.Question: Can you confirm the allocated budget for this contract? Answer: The Government cannot provide. That information is procurement sensitive. 6.Question: As this is a Total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB), is there some reason why you are not utilizing the GSA VETS GWAC to issue this procurement? Answer: While conducting Market Research, the Government determined that a SDVOSB set-aside on FBO was the best acquisition strategy. 7.Question: Request that VA consider the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 517911 (Telecommunication Resellers-Size Standard 1,500). This NAICS code would allow for the same services offered under 541513 and additional telecommunications services. Answer: The Government is not changing the NAICS code for this procurement. Based on the requirement, NAICS 541513 is more suitable for our requirement. In addition, the market research conducted for this procurement utilized NAICS code 541513. 8.Question: Has the SEWP contract been considered as an option? Answer: While conducting Market Research, the Government determined that a SDVOSB set-aside on FBO was the best acquisition strategy.
