Description

To whom it may concern, This announcement is to provide notification of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa City, IA intent to enter into a sole source purchase IAW Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements per FAR 6.302-1. Anticipated vendor for award and contract information as follows; Biomerieux Incorporated, 100 Rodolphe St., Durham, NC 27712 for a service and maintenance agreement for the Biomerieux Vitek2 MS Plus (MALDI TOF) equipment; VAID # 636 EE3031038, Biomerieux Vitek2-MS, Serial Number: 50499, including associated software, computer hardware, and printer. This agreement is anticipated to be a base plus four option years. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code that applies to this service is 334516. This procurement involves licensed, proprietary software, software upgrades and proprietary passwords. Any interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide service and maintenance and software upgrades. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements must provide written notification to the Contracting Officer by Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. local time. Information should be sent to Scott Morrison, Contracting Officer, at scott.morrison2@va.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received by the response date the Department of Veterans Affairs will proceed with the intended agreement. All questions concerning this requirement must be in writing and submitted via email to scott.morrison2@va.gov.
