- The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC), New Jersey 07806-5000, on behalf of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command - Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC) is contemplating award of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (s) (BPA) to a contractor(s) that could provide specialized tooling to support the manufacturing of prototype and production hardware in support of the ARDEC Prototype Integration Facility (PIF). Under this BPA, the contractor(s) shall provide one or many of the following materials and/or services as follows: The required tooling may include one or many of the following products: 1. CAT 40 / CAT 50 tool holders per ANSI 5.50 2. Indexable Carbide inserts for milling and turning operations 3. Round tools (drills, reamers, countersinks) 4. Solid Carbide round tools (endmills, drills, boring tools..etc) 5. Modified / custom carbide tools (mod. Endmills, port cutters etc..) 6. Taps and carbide Threadmills 7. Alloy and carbide ISO turning tools (boring bars, OD tool holders) 8. Indexable threading tools and inserts 9. Dies for bending, shearing, and forming 10. Abrasives (grinding wheels, de-burring accessories, blast media, etc) 11. Cutting Fluids 12. Saw blades 13. EDM Wire and accessories / consumables The required toolholding / workholding may include one or many of the following products: 1. Collets and fixtures (TG, ER, 5C, DA..etc) 2. Hydraulic toolholders 3. Shrink fit toolholders 4. Tool presetters 5. Hydraulic and pneumatic workholding 6. Drill chucks / arbors 7. Tombstones(work columns for pallet change milling centers) 8. Vises and collet closers 9. Rotary tables and indexers 10. Angle plates Precision Measuring Equipment: 1. Micrometers 2. Indicators 3. Calipers 4. Optical comparators 5. Pin and plug gages 6. Surface plates 7. Gage Blocks 8. Height gages 9. Hardness testers Repair and sharpening services: 1. Repair of precision measuring equipment 2. Repair of toolholders or boring bars 3. Re-sharpening of carbide endmills and drills 4. Recoating Carbide tooling 5. Re-sharpening twist drills This synopsis is open to all business concerns; however, in accordance with FAR 19.501, the Government's intent is to establish Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA's) with small businesses. In the event there are not enough responses from responsible, capable small businesses, then large business responses will be considered. All interested and potential firms must be registered in SAM, and current firms must update their records annually to maintain an active status. Please visit the SAM website to register and update https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. However, registration in no way guarantees that a contract or assistance award will be issued. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interests and capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, information pertaining to experience on previous projects, specific work previously performed or being performed, any in-house research and development effort, and any other specific and pertinent information as pertains to this particular area of procurement. All information is to be submitted via email (10MB limit) at no cost or obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. Responses shall also indicate the size of the business entity; large or small and provide your DUNS or Cage Code. Please provide the name of your firm, address, POC, phone/fax number and email address. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. Interested firms/companies are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data NO LATER THAN February 6, 2015. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is the government obligated to issue an RFP. In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. The Government may enter into one or multiple Blanket Purchase Agreements as a result of this notice.
