Description

FLOW STRAIGHTENERS (BADGER METER) Solicitation N00421-15-T-0096 is issued as intent to sole source. The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis, and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Cox Flow Measurement a division of Badger Meter Inc., under the authority implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) by FAR Part 13.106-1(b). Cox Flow Measurement, A Division of Badger Meter is the only manufacture who produces these straighteners. The straighteners are used to reduce or eliminate fluid swirl caused by pumps, piping bends, vibrations, valves and other related process variables within a piping system. Flow straighteners are used in piping systems where flow meters are present, such as: Systems with inadequate straight runs of piping. These flow straighteners will be used in twenty-two (22) NAVAIR Instrument Calibration Procedures (ICPs) that support hundreds of test instruments throughout the Navy. Badger Meter Flow Meters are an off the shelf items which was developed by Cox Flow Measurement, A Division of Badger Meter. The above flow straighteners exist in the METCAL inventory. This requirement is brand name mandatory, equivalent or similar product will not be accepted. See Attached RFQ. Solicitation will close on 30 December 2014 at 1600 EST.
