This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified businesses interested and capable of performing the work. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax, and email (e) DUNS number (f) Cage Code (g) Tax ID Number (h) Type of small business, e.g. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, SBA Certified 8(a) Firm, SBA Certified HUBZone Firm, Women Owned Small Business, SBA Certified Small Disadvantaged Business, Small Business, or Other than Small Business, and (i) must provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below. Description: The Northport VA Medical Center is seeking sources that are able to supply a subscription to the UpToDate online database, published by UpToDate, Inc. UpToDate is an evidence-based clinical decision support resource that offers comprehensive, peer-reviewed content in 22 medical specialties. With a subscription or site license, clinicians can access more than 10,000 topics. UpToDate topics undergo peer review and are updated continuously to ensure the content remains both current and accurate. Narrative in format, focuses on internal medicine and internal medicine specialties, integrates with Visual Dx graphics (a national subscription) and Ovid MD (another national subscription), unique in that it provides evidence-based graded recommendations throughout the content, updated quarterly, Comparison chart data that is collected on Knowledge Based Information - medical & Clinical Resources UpToDate is the resource of choice based on the chart shows all VA Libraries currently subscribe and/or are able to provide UpToDate to their staff. UptoDate is widely used in the VA system. The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. Notice to Potential Offerors: All Offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM located on the web at www.sam.gov). It is desirable that any Offeror to have completed their business Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). Additionally, all Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses or Veteran Owned Small Businesses who respond to a solicitation on this project must be registered with the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise VetBiz Registry located at http://vip.vetbiz.gov. Requests for information and resultant responses shall be submitted directly to the contracting officer, Paul Speedling at Paul.Speedling@va.gov or by Fax: at (914) 788-4878. NO TELEPHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All submissions should be received no later than 3:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on December 22, 2014.
