Sources Sought only. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (market survey). This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Pittsburgh VA Medical Center is currently is seeking a contractor to modernize the automatic load/unload Cart Lift. This work will also involve replacing the hoist machines, controller, hoist way switching and leveling devices. The automatic Cart will have the capability to stop at three floors and be rated for 1000 lb. and travel at 100 feet/minute. The dimensions of the cart shall be 30"wx60"dx69" and includes all controls and ancillary equipment necessary for its operation. The purpose of this sources sought is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified/verified Small businesses relative to the North American Industry Classification code (NAICS) 238290. The Small Business Size Standard for this NAICS code is $15.0 million. To make an appropriate acquisition decision for this requirement, the Government will use responses to this sources sought synopsis. The type of solicitation issued and the manner of advertisement will depend on the responses to this sources sought synopsis. Requirements Description: The Pittsburgh VA Medical Center is currently is seeking a contractor to modernize the automatic load/unload Cart Lift. Submission Requirements for responses to this sources sought synopsis: (1) Your intent to submit a quote for this project when it is formally advertised. (2) Name of firm with address, phone and point of contact. (3) Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your skills, experience, knowledge, and equipment required to perform the specified type of work. This should include documentation of past relevant experience and technical competence with a similar requirement. (4) A copy of SAM.GOV active registration. Must reflect Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) and Small Business Administration Certification of Small Business Type, (Reps/Certs) (5) A statement addressing your socioeconomic status such as Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Veteran-Ownded, Woman-Owned, Hubzone, etc. If inadequate responses are received, this solicitation may be issued for full and open competition. All correspondence and responses must be received by 11:00a.m. EST on December 23, 2014 and shall be e-mailed only to William MacDougall, william.macdougall@va.gov
