This announcement is for information and planning purposes only; it is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information to determine industry capabilities in carbon ion therapy. The Government is seeking to identify sources who have (or have the capability to obtain) non-interference use of existing facilities for carbon ion therapy. This is NOT a solicitation announcement. The Government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. Furthermore, no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement, or any follow-up information requests. Both U.S. and foreign entities capable of performing the below tasks are encouraged to reply. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future Request for Proposal (RFP), if any is issued. If an RFP is issued, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at http://www.fbo.gov/. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement as a small business set-aside, based on responses, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
