- The Department of Energy is issuing a sources sought for Specialized Services for the Office of Science (SSSC) currently performed as the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education(ORISE). ORISE focuses on scientific initiatives to develop the next generation of scientists, research health risks from occupational hazards, assess the efficacy of environmental cleanup, respond to radiation medical emergencies, and support national security and emergency preparedness. This effort will strengthen the nation?s research and development enterprise through education, research participation programs, scientific peer review, facilitating the protection of workers, the public and the environment through research, outreach and verification activities, and helping to facilitate the readiness of our nation to respond to emergencies.
