- Description
- The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) W52P1J-15-R-0020. This solicitation is for a Firm Fixed Price contract for the rework of M68 Claymore Trainers that were found to have residual moisture damage - NSN: 1345-01-555-7934. The applicable NAICS code is 332993, with a size standard of 1500. In July 2014, during periodic inspection, 4,322 M68 Claymore Trainers were found to have residual moisture problems (corroded metal legs, water-damaged bandoleer bags, etc.), rendering them unserviceable. As a result, repair procedures have been identified to return these now unserviceable trainers to a serviceable condition. The M68 Trainer is intended to be an inert version of M18A1 with non-electrical initiation system for training use. The M68 includes the M33 Anti-Personnel Practice Mine which is approximately 22 cm wide, 14 cm high, and 6 cm thick, formed to a slight arc along its vertical axis, blue in color, has inert markings, and contains no explosive material. The inert mine body contains an inert fill consisting of a mixture of gypsum cement, magnetite, and water. The M68 contains an inert Mini Det assembly (P/N 13008289). The M68 is packed in the M7 Anti Personnel Mine Bandoleer for field use. The proposed contract will be Lowest Price Technically Acceptable and a Small Business Set Aside. Detailed specifics of the requirements will be provided in the Statement of Work and the solicitation. FOB will be destination. The Statement of Work will NOT be available until after the solicitation in formally issued. ESTIMATED solicitation issue date is 5 December 2014. This is an estimated date only and is subject to change. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and FAR 5.102(a)(1); therefore, hard copies will not be provided. Vendors wishing for an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Website at the following address via the internet: https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any Amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain an offerors mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any Amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said Amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render your proposal nonresponsive and result in rejection.
