- Description
- The intent of this notice is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes and to determine if commercial sources are available. The information will be used within the U.S. Navy but will not be disclosed outside the agency. This notice does NOT constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Far East is seeking qualified contractors and subcontractors that are licensed to conduct business in Japan for Facilities Support contracts. The scope of work will contain sites throughout Japan, including: Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY), Naval Air Facility Atsugi (NAFA), Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS), Naval Air Facility Misawa (NAFM), Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni (MCASI) and New Sanno Hotel, Tokyo. The work includes, but is not limited to, all labor, management, supervision, tools, material, and equipment required to perform inspection, certification, and support services for the following building systems: Boilers and Unfired Pressure Vessels (UPV). The Contractor shall provide personnel with the qualifications, technical knowledge, experience and skills required for efficient operations within the Facilities Investment function. Personnel inspecting, witnessing tests, preparing reports, and issuing certificates for boilers and UPVs must be qualified per Japanese Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), Inspection and Certification of Boilers and UPV, and appropriately licensed at the time of performance.
