Description
Price Quote Worksheet (Attachment 2) Request for Quotation & Statement of Work The Department of Transportation, U.S. Maritime Administration's Division of Atlantic Operations intends to solicit quotations for potential offerors to provide all required labor and materials for installation to replace the vessels deck systems. This work includes the removal of interferances and existing decking materials in the indicated areas, preparation of the bare steel, priming and replacement with an approved terrazzo material. The T.S. KENNEDY is a U.S. Government owned "Public Nautical School Ship" provided to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy for the purpose of training young men and women for a career in the U.S. Maritime Industry. It is the intent of this Statement of Work (SOW) for the Contractor to provide all labor, materials, and services (except where noted as being government furnished) to accomplish the following in accordance with all applicable U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Regulations and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Rules: • Removal of the deck covering materials listed in the attached plan. • Preparation of the steel substrait • Renew of all deck as listed in the attached plan using new approved decking materials. All work shall be performed aboard the TS KENNEDY which is moored at her pier located at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, 101 Academy Drive, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532. The desired performance period for this requirement will be from 12/08/2014 through 12/23/2014. Work hours shall be from 0800 to 1600 hours Monday through Friday with the exception of Federal and Massachusetts State holidays. Hot work shall not be permitted after 1530 hrs. A site visit will be conducted onboard the T.S. KENNEDY at 10:00 a.m. ET, located at its layberth located at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, 101 Academy Drive, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532. Quoters are encouraged to attend as failure to attend does not relieve the quoter of accuracy of their proposal and the quoter's responsibility that it has investigated and satisfied itself as to the general and local conditions which can affect the work or its cost. In order to make the visit as productive as possible, quoters are also requested to submit any questions from the review of the solicitation package or as a result of visiting the site should be submitted in writing (email) to the Contracting Officer by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014. Responses determined to be necessary will be issued by amendment to the solicitation package. Responses to this solicitation are due not later than December 02, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time for Norfolk, VA. LATE QUOTATION MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR EVALUATION. ATTENTION: Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts. The Maximum line of credit is $750,000. The STLP loan has a variable rate, which is connected to the prime rate.
