The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the FAA Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has a requirement for new manufactured batteries, NSN 6140-01-291-6488, Part Numbers LD12-100 or LS12-100. The contract vehicle being contemplated is an Indefinite-Delivery/Requirements type contract that will include option provisions to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods. This market survey is requesting information that will enable the FAA to make a screening decision to determine qualified firms that have the ability to provide these services. The FAA reserves the right to add incumbent contractors and/or other sources which meet the criteria and have performed satisfactorily on previous procurements. The responses to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only. This is not a screening information request or request for proposal of any kind. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to the market survey. Therefore, any cost associated with the market survey submission is solely at the interested vendor's expense. At this time the nature of the competition has not been determined. The FAA may decide to do a full and open competition or set aside all or part of the procurement for small businesses or eligible socially and economically disadvantaged businesses that are certified by the SBA for participation in the SBA's 8(a) Program. The purpose of this market survey is to solicit statements of interest and capabilities from small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, 8(a) certified firms, and all other business types and sizes, capable of supporting the requirement. This market survey is also being conducted in order to obtain the information necessary to determine whether adequate competition exists to set-aside the competition among small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses or 8(a) certified firms. The principal North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 335912, Primary Battery Manufacturing. In order to make this determination the FAA requires that interested vendors follow the instructions detailed below. 1.Submit a Capability Statement - This document should identify: Types of services provided by your firm Size and type of services provided by previous contracts (elaborate and provide detailed information and past performance) Number of years in business 2.Review the following attached documents: list of salient characteristics FAA Specification FAA-E-2826 3.Answer the following questions: Do the list of salient characteristics and the FAA specification sufficiently convey the requirement for the battery? If not, please identify the areas that need clarification. Can you meet a delivery schedule that averages 250 units per calendar quarter? Do you have the ability to store batteries? If so, identity the storage capacity. Do you have the ability to recharge batteries? Additionally, interested vendors must complete and submit a signed copy of the attached Business Declaration form (please submit electronically, email to address below). All responses to this market survey must be received by 12:00 p.m. CST, November 17, 2014.
