Polar Star Vessel Info This announcement is a Sources Sought Synopsis (market survey). This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The purpose of this sources sought is to determine interest and capability of potential businesses. The Government may use responses to this sources sought synopsis to make an appropriate acquisition decision for this project. The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is conducting market research for potential qualified contractors that can perform drydock repairs on the USCGC POLAR STAR (WAGB-10). The principal characteristics of the vessel are attached to this notice via a downloadable document. The following is a sampling of work to be performed: Sampling of work to be performed: 1: Production Gantt Bar Chart, Provide, 2: Hull Plating (U/W Body), Ultrasonic Testing, 3: Tanks (Dirty Oil and Waste), Clean and Inspect, 4: Fathometer Transducer, Renew, 5: Allied K280-70 Crane, Level 1 Inspect and Repair, 6: Cathodic Protection / Zinc Anodes, Renew, 7: Drydocking, 8: Sea Trial Performance, Support, Provide, 9: Hull Plating Freeboard, Preserve "100%", 10: Tanks (Lube Oil), Clean and Inspect, 11: Temporary Services, Provide, 12: Towing Bitts, Chocks and Fairleads, Inspect and Test,13: Tanks (Aviation Fuel Service), Clean and Inspect,14: Hull Plating (U/W Body), Inspect, 15: Propeller Removal and Reinstallation16: Propulsion Shaft Seal, Clean, Inspect, and Overhaul, 16: Shaft Handling Equipment, Preventative Maintenance Prior to Use, 17: Sea Strainers (Hayward) Open, Clean, and Inspect, 18: Temporary Fuel Oil Offload and Storage Drydock, 19: Rudder Removal And Inspection 20: U/W Body, Preserve (Partial), 21: Anchor Windlass, Level 1 Service and Inspect Minor Repairs, 22: Allied T60-60 Crane, Level 1 Inspect and Repair, 23: Life Jacket Locker, Deck Repairs, 24: Quartermaster Shelter, Refurbish, 25: JP-5 Pass Through Water Tight Fitting, Renew, 26: Steam System Relief Valve, Overhaul, 27: Propulsion Shaft - Strain Gage Readings (All), 28: Centrifugal Fan Overhaul; Fan Unit 1-54-2 29: Vent Ducting Renewal; Fan Unit 1-204-1, 30: Deck Head and Projector Locker, Restoration, 31: Scientist Stateroom Starboard, Refurbish, 32: Scientist Stateroom Port, Refurbish, 33: Helo Foam Equipment Room, Deck Renewal, 34: Vaneaxial Fan Overhaul, 35: Diesel Generator Room No. 1, Bilge Preservation 36: Diesel Generator Room No. 2, Bilge Preservation, 37: Vent Ducting Motor and Gear Room, Renewal. The planned period of performance will be on or about April 15, 2015 through July 14, 2015. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated for award. Place Of Performance: Contractor's Facility Geographical Restriction - West Coast of the United States to include Alaska and Hawaii The cutter is homeported in Seattle, WA. Interested parties shall submit a capability statement that includes the following: (a) The following company information: a) Point of Contact name, Email address and phone number, b) CAGE Code and DUNS number, and c) In the event that you are a small business, state the category of small business, such as 8(a), HUBZone, Veteran Owned Small Business, Woman Owned Small Business, or SDVOSB. (b) Description of firm's qualifications and capabilities relevant to fulfilling the above requirement. (c) Past performance information that demonstrates successful completion as a prime contractor of projects similar in scope and complexity to the work items above. Include contract numbers, project titles, project description, dollar amounts (award and final values), references with email addresses and telephone numbers. The Government intends to advertise a solicitation for this project in the near future. At this time, a solicitation does not exist; therefore, offers shall not be accepted. It is the potential Offeror's responsibility to monitor FedBizOpps for release of any future solicitation that may result from this Sources Sought Notice. No cost or pricing data is required.
