- Company Identification Sheet Market Research Document The Department of Defense (DoD) Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) is conducting market research for information purposes only to determine market capability for providing maintenance to the WHS Facilities Services Directorate (FSD). The purpose of this announcement is to determine all potential sources, particularly those firms that are considered to be small businesses, 8(a)s, small disadvantaged businesses, woman-owned small businesses, historically underutilized business zones, minority-owned small businesses and/or service disabled veteran-owned small businesses. The information attained as a result of this announcement will be used to determine the extent to which this acquisition will be set aside for small business concerns. This notice is not intended to solicit business for proposals; this is for market research purposes only. The objective of this requirement is to provide a selection of OSHA and ANSI approved safety eyeglass frames and lenses, including both plastic frames and metal frames with adjustable nose pads. All supplies and services shall meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.133, OSHA 29 CFR 1926.102, and ANSI Z87.1-2003. Frames must be standard and issued in suitable eye sizes to fit small, medium, and large people. Employees will try on frames and frame will be fit and adjusted for each employee’s needs after the lenses are made. Additionally, the contractor will take all required measurements for multi-vision employees, including pupil distance (PD), and multi-focal height. The contractor should expect to accommodate needs for single, bifocal, and multi-focal vision, as well as progressive (no-line) lenses. Glasses will be fitted to each employee individually and sent for modifications, if required. The awardee contractor shall be accessible during normal business hours and provide these services and supplies within 10 days or less. This project will provide support for WHS facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR). WHS maintains and operates DoD facilities in the NCR. WHS’ goal is to ensure that all 300 employees in FFD maintain access to protective equipment to provide a safe working environment for DoD personnel. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 446130, Optical Goods Store, with a size standard of 500 employees. It is anticipated that the majority of the work will be performed at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
