Description
Level of Effort Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) intends to compete a delivery order under existing Basic Ordering agreements with Huntington Ingalls Incorporated, Newport News Shipbuilding (HIINNS), 4104 Washington Ave, Newport News, VA 23607 and Electric Boat Corporation (EB), 75 Eastern Point Rd, Groton, CT 06340. HIINNS and EB are the only Naval Sea Systems Command Qualified sources to perform the required work on nuclear submarines. This will be a level of effort delivery order requirement for the accomplishment of specific depot-level repair, maintenance, and modernization for steam plant systems, and auxiliary ship systems that support the reactor plant and associated reactor safety systems for submarines and aircraft carriers at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), Bremerton WW. Contractor personnel will require the equivalent of the PSNS "Q" Nuclear qualification. This nuclear-related effort requires trade labor (as shown below) that is trained, qualified, and authorized to perform maintenance on primary and secondary valves, Type 1 clean systems and steam plant clean systems, along with heat exchanger cleaning, miscellaneous pump work and various testing support. Radiological connects/disconnects (intermediate joints, flanges, and vent and drain valves), basic containment installation/removal, testing (Shipboard and inside shop, hydro, pneumatic...), shop fabrication, staging test equipment, polybottle connects/disconnects, polybottle decanting, all normal 56NT work. HIINNS and EB, if interested in this work, are required to notify the contract specialist, Ms. Nicole Napier-Kurdelski, by the required response date of 20 November 2014.
